Basis Peak Fitness and Sleep Tracker app good for
I like this app. But I would like a few things to be fixed. One you probably already know, the manual sync only works 25 percent of the time. Also when I sleep, I sometimes wake up and stay up for a little more than an hour. When I do that, my watch splits my sleep in half or completely forgets the first half of my sleep! When I have an interruption that long I want my watch to mark it as one. But other than that this app is good and your watch is AWSOME!!! Keep those updates coming! Thanks!!!
I happened to see a Basis Peak on sale for a very good price about three months ago. Without much research, I bought it! Ive since compared it with other smart watches, and really aside from a few extra fun things, this watch provides the same core "watch connected to my phone" features my friends actually use on their Apple Watches: view text messages, Facebook notifications, and control music.
This app is an incredible motivator. Ive gone from ~800 steps a day to 10,000 steps a day. I feel better. I sleep better. I look forward to walking and running. Because I have this record of "look, I do this now, Ive done this, I want to keep it up" to remind myself when Im feeling lazy hahaha.
The app itself is right nearly perfect; looks great, has most of the data that the website does, and I havent ever been frustrated by it. That last 5/5 would come from just smoothing out the navigation motion. This app "moves" like an old-school, designed-for-clicking webpage. Hardly the end of the world, but just smoothing out the scrolling and transitions from view to view would polish the app off.
I LOVE my Basis Peak and just found out I can no longer sync my watch or enjoy the online features since they are now on RECALL!
I cannot wait til they settle the issue and place them back on sale! I am heartbroken to have to give this up!
I have tried them all, literally, at this point and Basis Peak is the best all around. It tracks my sleep without me telling it to, same for exercise. Its truly a smart device. Accurate heart rate, everything works well. As advertised. I highly recommend this wearable tech to anyone who wants a better idea of their health and fitness including sleep.
Ive had the Peak for a week now. Setup was easy and flawless. Charged the watch fully, then installed the app on my iPhone 6. The app paired automatically with the watch and installed the firmware on the watch.
The watch works as advertised. It can read my heart rate 99% of the time. Step count is off a bit, but thats fine.
Ive had no problems with syncing between the phone and watch. I just open the app on my phone, and it automatically syncs with the phone. Ive read reviews where people had trouble syncing. Perhaps the most recent update in firmware solved the problem.
Overall, Im quite happy with my purchase. I chose the Basis Peak over waiting for Apple Watch as the Peak has more sensors than Apple Watch. The sleep tracking is very cool (REM, deep), and something no other fitness band, including Apple Watch, can do.
Highly recommend.
Lots of info in this app. Stable and no crashes but it disconnects at least once a day and the only way to reconnect is to force close the app and reopen it. The watch however never loses Bluetooth connectivity.
Things I would like to see:
My fitness pal integration
Realtime heart beat info
Manually start an activity
Edit an activity name and type
Overall quite impressed. The hardware is top quality.
We need Third party integration. This is crucial.
Some bad moments
I wish I could roll back. Changing days and scrolling and
Zooming is horribly broken now. The whole charting feature got ruined.
It works on for me still, just is crashing very often. Hopefully there next update will fix that back to how reliable it was
Drains battery on my iPhone 6 ~ 4 % per hour if Peak is connected.
This app is hard to use. Compared to Fitbit or jawbone, the interface is way too complicated and not user-friendly or motivating in any way. My watch has basically become a heart rate monitor, nothing more. Not very satisfied.
Not impressed doesnt work with new iPad with latest IOS, so will be taking the watch back for a refund. I dont recommend the product or app. For the high cost it has terrible compatibility. I will look at jawbone instead of this.
This watch and app were fun when I first got it but once youve used it for a while you discover that its really not that accurate. It often thinks when Im driving that Im riding a bike even though my heart rate clearly indicates otherwise. It thinks Im sleeping watching tv or playing video games and getting up for a magical evening stroll without my feet moving. At the moment it lives permanently on its cradle (which you need to charge or pair it) because it wont connect to the app at all after the last update. So its basically reverted to a super basic watch that does nothing but tell time... poorly (since it cant sync to my phone its slowly loosing time). Ive tried to contact their tech support repeatedly but have gotten no response. The watch band is nice though. I think I might take it off and put it on my Casio. Anyhow dont waste your time or money.
